California Bank & Trust (CB&T), a leading financial institution in California, has launched its 2026 CB&T Top Small Businesses in Sacramento Awards for the third year in a row. The program recognizes local entrepreneurs and small businesses that are positively affecting the Greater Sacramento area and its economy.
Nominations can be submitted through March 31, 2026, and are divided into five categories: Small Business of the Year, Small Business Leader of the Year, Small Business Workplace Culture, Most Innovative Small Business and Small Business Community Champion. Businesses nominated for the 2026 California Bank & Trust Top Small Businesses in Sacramento Awards have the opportunity to be recognized at three levels: silver, gold, or platinum. If a business is selected as a platinum winner, it will receive a special prize—a $2,000 digital marketing campaign sponsored by USA Today. This means the business will get professional marketing support valued at $2,000 to help promote itself online, which can help attract new customers and enhance its visibility. “I find it extremely valuable to recognize Sacramento’s small businesses, as they contribute so greatly to our communities through their entrepreneurship and resilience,“ said CB&T Senior Vice President, Regional Manager for Northern California Erica Fernandez. “It’s a privilege for CB&T to support this initiative once again, a program that champions and uplifts these enterprises and serve as a foundation of our local economy. By recognizing and supporting these businesses, we are investing in a bright, thriving future for Sacramento and all who live here.”
Last year’s California Bank & Trust Top Small Businesses in Sacramento Awards received hundreds of nominations and votes, making it clear how competitive and diverse the businesses are. Along with the prestige, recipients of the award are also given invaluable mentorship resources that aim to further their strategic growth and ensure their success.
“Each year it seems to be more crucial to honor our small businesses, and especially their leaders,” added Fernandez. “In a world of ever-changing demands, we hope our program gives them the support and resources they need to find economic growth and to flourish in our communities.”
To be eligible for nomination, businesses must be headquartered in Sacramento County, be in business for a minimum of two years and generate between $200,000 and $20 million in annual revenue. Visit the voting site to find complete rules or to nominate a business.
